Sisterhood Showcase 2016

I had the pleasure of attending of the 2016 Sisterhood Showcase. I haven't attending in a while and I must say it was a great experience after years of missing out on the festivities.

The showcase started off with Cocktails and
Conversations which was powered by Centric. The event included panel speakers to include Memphis's own Andrea Johnson of THE Bubble Bisto, Myleik Teele of Curlbox, Mahisha Dellinger of Curls, and Christina Stevison, the President of the Sisterhood Showcase.

The panel discussed everything from managing your time, financing your business, staying true to your goals and much more.
Side note- Can we get into how fabulous the stage setup is!

Photo booth fun with the owners of Dean of Fashion, Jenuinely Chic, A Natural Affair Beauty Lounge, and RBG Productions

Saturday was filled with a day of celebrities, fashion, music, and more. The attendees had the pleasure of hearing the Southern Hummingbird herself take to the stage. The oh so handsome Joe followed Tweet and gave the ladies a real treat!

The highlight for me was the fashion show of course which was produced  by the Dean of Fashion herself! The models and the fashions were the perfect finish to the event!

My favorite set up at the Sisterhood Showcase was from My Heavenly Creations. Not only was the display beautiful but the products smelled amazing.

I must say it was an amazing showcase. I'm excited for the president of the company and can't wait to see next year's events. Be sure to follow for like Sisterhood Showcase for more pics, videos, and updates on future events.

Style in the City-Fashion Moguls Memphis Take Flight Fashion Show

I had the pleasure of attending a great fashion event on the campus of the University of Memphis Monday night.  I arrived excited to see the fashions and snap pictures for the blog. I was not disappointed.  The President of the organization, Christina Dang, along with the board of the organization, did a great job of showcasing talent that thrives here in the city. With designs from Thrityone 22 Boutique, Tabitha Josephat, and many more, the runway was filled with trendy and fashion forward threads. Take a look at a few snaps from this fabulous event.

Hidden Jewels in Memphis- Lichterman Nature Center

I have lived in Memphis my entire life, and today was the first time I EVER stepped foot inside the Lichterman Nature Center on Quince. I have drove by the huge entrance sign a million of times, which is usually covered with pictures of butterflies, foxes, or flowers, depending on the season. Me and the kiddies stepped into a relaxing, calming, and enchanting place once we set foot in the nature center.

Flowers in bloom at the center.

Isn't this mason jar serving as a vase not the cutest?!

My favorite spot. It's so beautiful and calming. I could sit, read a book, and sip wine in this spot all day.

I'm not a nature girl at all, but the Lichterman Nature Center definitely pulled a piece out of me. I love this place and cant wait to go back when the seasons change. I'm sure the foliage and grounds will be even more beautiful.

Fly, Fab, & Fashionable

I love to see a fashionable couple. I mean a couple who's style and personality that truly compliments each other. For the first installment of Fly, Fab, & Fashionable, I present to you the Clinton's! This dynamic fashion couple has an elegant style that speaks volumes without being flashy or to over the top.

When asked to describe his personal style Shana states
I would define my personal style as a fusion of modern, vintage, classic, and contemporary. My style elusively evolves but holds on to the past at the same time. As a man, I love to pay tribute to many of the classic styles that have come and gone, I identify myself as a modern fashion gentleman. I love vintage suits, handkerchiefs, lapel pins, neckwear, and shoes.
When it comes to fashion, I think fashion is a personal yet artistic expression of all of the discombobulated ideas that are in my head. It is like art, my body is a canvas and I have an opportunity to paint a picture of what I want the world to see when they look at me. My fashion puts me in control of what a spectator’s eye sees. I know that there are some telltale laws of fashion that must be followed. However, I think perfectly fine to identify a fashion rule and creatively and beautifully break it.
When it comes to spousal influence: My wife gives me free reign to style her (and myself) and most of all she trusts my keen eye for style and fashion.

Shana is also an up and coming photographer
Lapel Pins from Shana's collection

When asked to describe her personal style Quesha states
I would define my personal style as a collision of femininity, mixed with a touched elegance and topped off with a splash of reserved sexiness. I like to flirt with a variety of looks and I have no problem with being a style chameleon. I have a penchant for dresses, heels, jewelry, and handbags.
When it comes to fashion, for me fashion is a way of life. I live, eat, and breathe fashion. I think the world is a runway, I think every moment my feet hit the ground I have any opportunity to show the world something that they did not see yesterday. I think the key to being fashionable is to commit to a look and own it. As a woman, I am conscious of my body and I am careful to ensure that I wear fashion in a way that it accentuates the positives.

Look at those cute kiddies in the background!

Love the Draping on the Neckline of this Dress with her Natural Hair!

Marquesha is a recipient of the I Teach I Am Award. It's awarded only to the top educators in Memphis!
