L. Thomas June 16, 2014 Today's Recipes- Lemon Chess Squares L. Thomas June 16, 2014 I have a killer sweet tooth and just about anything sugary will satisfy my sweet tooth. My husband loves chess squares so I decided to make some for Father's Day. Check out the recipe below. 1 (18.25 ounce) package lemon cake mix You can use just about any type of mix. I have used strawberry and yellow also in previous recipes 1 cup melted butter 1 egg 1 cup chopped pecans- you can leave them out if you don't LOVE pecans...I Love them. Filling 2 (8) ounce packages of cream cheese 4 cups of confectioners' sugar 2 eggs Directions 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees 2. Combine cake mix, melted butter, pecans, and egg in a bowl. Mix until blended and spread into a 9x13 inch pan. 3.In a separate bowl mix cream cheese, confectioners' sugar and eggs until blended. *Tip place cream cheese in microwave for 1 minute to soften it and make it easier to stir. 4.Pour cream cheese mixture over cake mixture and bake for 45 minutes. 5. Allow in pan and then cut into squares. Garnish with a sprinkle of confectioners' sugar and enjoy!!!
